This is the ultimate way to solo the lvl 20 avatar fights. (Using POS tool)
-Prepare for the battle like you normally would.
-Enter the fight, immediately hit REC0
-Go to the bend and hit REC1
-Go a bit further and summon carbuncle like you normally would initiate the fight
-Attack the avatar, but instead of running back down to the zone, go to the pit and hit REC2, then hit MOVE0
-You will now be ready for the rest of the fight. Go on about it like you normally would, but instead of running away from the avatar, use the MOVE to get to the place intended. This is also EXTREMELY useful when getting out of a bad situation (2hr, carbuncle dies, avatar is attacking you).

Once i hit Lv 30 i really started looking into getting my Jeuno fame up to the Lv where i could start the RSE quests.

the best way to raise your bastok and sandy fame at the same time is to give an old man in Selbina some Boyahda Moss.

this moss can be dropped off Goobbue in the Pashow Marshland, or u can find this moss for 6k a stack in jeuno

giving the old man this moss nets u 600 gil a pop and gives u fame in not only bastok but also san’d at the same time. it takes about 10 stacks of moss to get max jeuno fame, but unlike the trading rabbit hides in san’d, u make 1.2k per stack. 10 stacks handed in = 12k just for getting max jeuno fame! ^^

sure beats running around doing quests all day

Speed Exploit (Final Fantasy x movies)

If you use windower, and I assume most of you do, there is a very easy speed exploit you could use.

Try it out: open up your clock, change the hour from 12:12:12 to 1:00:12 (don’t need to change the seconds), hit apply, then change it to 1:30:20 (I change the seconds for the second time), hit apply again, then OK.

You will automatically begin to go super fast. It will be hard to control, but you’ll get used to it.

If it doesn’t work the first time (ie. you’re still goin the same speed), then just do it again.

Works while on choco’s, with flee, anytime.

PS. You may have to logout and log back in to zone sometimes. Always carry a scroll of instant warp or a warp cudgel, because in some areas or towns you may fall into a place where you can’t move, and you need to get outta there.

Dragon Quest (Final Fantasy x wallpaper)

Dragon Quest
So we’re all dying to fight that dragon huh? We all want that rank 3 so we can continue moving up, and this dragon seems to be a pesky critter to vanquish, not to mention the 2-3 hours it takes to complete all the preliminaries to fighting the dragon. This, along with constant "dragon complaints" on the LS have inspired me to do a write up on how to easily take the dragon down. Granted there are 2 methods to this.

1. Complete everything required before fighting the dragon, find a JP group to venture with you to Yugatto and take the dragon down.
2. Do the entire quest with a group of 23-25, and then journey to fight the dragon.

I highly recommend the JP group. It’s the best way NOT to die.

When taking the Emissary mission there are two roads you can go. Bastok>San d’orio or Bastok Windurst. I went the Bastok>Windurst route. So that is the way I will take you all.

The quest starts by speaking with a mythril musketeer. I will not give out any story details so there will be no spoilers in here. After you have recieved the mission these are the steps you must take.

1. Visit Naji at the Presidents office for the full orders of your mission.
2. Travel to Selbina and go to I-10, the Sea Travel Agency. Purchase your ticket to Mhaura.
3. From Mhaura you must go Buburimu Peninsula>Tahrongi Canyon>East Sarutabaruta>West Sarutabaruta>Windurst.
4. Once in Windurst you must visit the Bastok Consulate at Port Windurst (E-5) and speak with Melek.
5. After she has spoken with you go to E7 and speak with Machu-Machu I believe and he will transport you to Windurst Walls.
6. Here go to Heavens Tower (H7) and zone in. Now you must find Kipipu, he is straight back through the doors. Once you have recieved the key item from him run back to the Bastok Consulate and have it switched for the other key item. Now you are ready to travel again.
7. Rent a Chocobo if you like, but it isn’t really a long walk. Travel to F4 and zone into Giddeus.
8. Once inside seek out Uh Zhoumo and talk to him. He won’t take your key item. Now you must go to G7 in Giddeus and wait for Eyy Mon the Ironbreaker to spawn. Kill him, he will drop an Aspir knife and then you can trade that to Zhoumo and continue on.
9. Back to Windurst Walls. Speak with Kipipu in Heavens tower and the Consul again. They will thank you and then it will be time to go to San d’Orio
10. The trip is a long one. But can be shortened if you use a white mage with warp to take you from Telepoint, to Telepoint (telepoints are located at the Crags or have warp scrolls. Otherwise consult your maps and region info to get to San d’Oria.
11. IF none of those options are available get a choco and travel West Sarutabaruta>Tahrongi Canyon>Meriphataud Mountaion>Sauromongue
Champaign>Jueno. Get another choco in Jueno and travel to Rolanberry>Battalia>Jugner Forest>La Theine>West Ronfaure>San d’oria.
12. Once in Sand head to Northen Sand and visit the Bastok Consulate at J-9. Speak with Helaku and then you will be asked to go to Chateau d’Oraguille located in Northen San at J-7.
13. Speak with Halver in the first room and you will be asked to go to the Yughott Grotto.

At this point it is absolutely necessary to have a Party of 20+ people. The creatures in Yughott are aggressive and are all 20+. I recommend 2 heaers whm with blm full support jobs. 3 warriors all with support jobs. Then at least one other class that can backup heal. The dragon is NOT easy. I didn’t have the maps for any of these places but it is not hard to find with a little exploring. Or you can get the maps. I think they can be bought in San d’Oria from the map vendor. Never looked into it.

14. Travel to E-4 in West Ronfaure then go Ghelsba Outpost>Fort Ghelsba (J-8)>Yughott Grotto (J-6).
15. Here there is a burning circle. DO NOT go into the battlefield till everyone is ready.
16. Ok zone in. Wait for everyone else and let all buffs etc. get put up. Then heal till MP is full.
17. When you get to the battlefield there will be a cutscene. After this the fight will begin.
18. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU KILL THE SPOTTER FIRST. Ignore the dragon and focus only on heals. Have the warriors provoke well to keep damage heals to min. Treat this like any normal pull. Use your 2hours if you must. Once the spotter is down, kill the dragon, enjoy the cutscene and head back to San d’Oria to speak with the consulate. again.
19. HOME FREE. Travel back to Bastok report to Naji, watch the cutscene and WALA 3k gll and rank 3.

Hope this helps everyone. I did the best I could with the maps and whatnot that I had.

This works the PC version of FFXI using a Gforce graphics card. Since it’s based on flaws of the graphic engine, i cannot say wether or wether not it works on the console version or other cards. It basically allows you to target things through solid objects like walls or doors. It works best if the wall/door etc has some kind of corners. Even tho i got it to work on a plain and smooth wall, it is easier the other way.
Place your back as much in the corner as possible
go into 1st person view
turn your field of view as much left/right as possible
slowly turn your character to the left/right
By doing so you should reach a point where you can see through the object. All objects, walls and doors ingame are only visible from the sight player are supposed to be on. So by looking through the wall with this method, you will also look through all other walls in your direction that do not face you with their ‘visible’ side.

use the nromal targetting methods (cycle target/click with mouse etc)
You can also lock on to selected targets.

NOTE
Do not move your char in any direction while looking through the wall or having a target locked. The game engine places the camera at the front of your model. By forcing the front of your model behind your back, the game thinks it’s behind the obstacle letting you look through it. The moment you move your model will be aligned with your field of view playcing your view in front of the obstacle.

Castle Oztroja
This is where i discovered the bug. Everyone knows the door in the coffer area that can only be opened by lighting a torch (only THF can solo that and live) or a lever behind the door. Use the trick in the right corner of the wall (when facing it, the corner where the lever is). When you look through the door target the lever and lock on to it. If you are far enough in the corner, then you can use the lever now to open the door. If you get the ‘target out of range’ error, you need to do it again getting closer to the lever (more into the corner). You cannot use the lever without locking on to it because of range issues.

Garlaige Citadel
Oh be thee damned, Banishing Gate. Old Two-wings and Skewer Sam can easily be solo’d. But whoever tried to camp them encountered the problem, that you cannot reach them without passing gate#1. . .and you usually don’t intend to drag 3ppl along to camp them. So use the trick to look through the gate and target something behind it (prefereable a skeleton since they dont move far). Lock on to the target and wait. When Sam or 2-wings passes the gate, quickly release the target and switch target to the NM (make sure to look to your utmost left/right to be able to watch through the wall to target). Now lock on to the NM and move to the front of the door and claim the NM with any ranged spell/ability/attack/job ability. Even though you cannot look through the gate and usually can’t target through it, you can attack through it

Elemental Ore Growing 101 (Final Fantasy band)

The Elemental Ore Guide

Growing elemental ores is an incredibly lucrative business if you can get it to work, you will be looking at 200k-500k an ore if u succeed. I’ll lay all the basic information down and then explain the trickier aspects of gardening for these items.

What you’ll need (Per 1 Plant):

1 Porcelain Pot (7-8k ea Prices on Unicorn Server as of March 31, 2005)
1 Tree Sapling (10-12k ea)
2 Crystals of same type (Depends on crystal)
Ability to check plants everyday

The Method:

Plant Tree Sapling into Porcelain Pot
Check Plant Everyday
6-8 Days after Planting you will be prompted to feed plant
Feed with 1 of your crystals
Check plant everyday
6-8 Days after 1st Feeding you will be prompted to feed again
Feed with your 2nd crystal of same type
Check plant everyday
6-8 Days after 2nd Feeding you will be prompted to Harvest
Harvest and hopefully get your elemental Ore

That’s the basic method of getting elemental ores. But, for better success you will have to plant/feed/harvest on certain days and certain moon cycles. I don’t know the days that will give more success, but I do know that the higher the moon cycle is when you plant/feed/harvest the better the chances are that you will get an ore. Also, u do not want to over fertilize. I tried to get Wind Ores by planting on Windsday, Feeding on Windsday, and Harvesting on Windsday. This resulted in me having MANY stacks of bay leaves and not 1 ore. Apparently a good way to get light ores is to Plant on a Lightsday, Feed both times on Earthsday, and Harvesting Fire/Earthsday. The last statement was made by a friend of mine who has 6+ mules doing plants, and he has EXTENSIVELY tested gardening for Elemental Ores. Good luck!
