Sharpening the Sword - PLD AF1
First do the Father and Son quest and make sure to give the fishing pole back to the son. Then, after talking with Ailbeche again, head to Ordelle’s Caves and look for a stalagmite around H-10 of the first level. This triggers the spawn of Polevik, an Earth Elemental. After you kill him, touch the stalagmite again to receive a key item.

Talk to Sobane in (D-6) of South San d’Oria. Then go back to Ailbeche for the Honor Sword.

This Quest is Repeatable

A Boy’s Dream - PLD AF2
You must be level 50 and have completed the PLD AF1 quest for the Honor Sword before you can get this quest.

After getting the quest from Ailbeche, go talk to Ailbeche’s father, Exorache. He is in weapons shop in South San d’Oria. Then go back to Ailbeche and talk to him again. He wants you to get a ‘giant shell bug’ (fishing bait) from Crawler’s Nest.
The NM crawler Dreadbug can be found around (H-9) by talking to ???. After you kill Dreadbug you’ll obtain 2-3 ‘Giant Shell bug’. You should keep them all or at least 2 since you might lose the catch when you try to fish.

You can skip this part if you have enough Gil and if the item is available at the Auction House.

After you get item, you MUST go back to Ailbeche and trade him the bait. If you don’t and you don’t have bait anymore after the fish fight, you have to get the bait again in order to get the quest going. So make sure you trade the bait with Ailbeche after you get it.

After that he’ll tell you you can catch a big one in Castle Oztroja. Find the pond where there are Oozes roaming around at (H-9). You should clear the area because they will aggro when you’re fighting. They are good for building up TP.

Fishing skill level doesn’t matter. Any rod that is designed for big fishes should be okay. Equip the ‘Giant Shell Bug’ along with rod and fish in the pond until you pull up Odontotyrannus. A full PT of level 55 should suffice.

After the fight, the fish will drop ‘Odontotyrannus’. Take the item and go back to Ailbeche and trade with him. He’ll then tell you to go to Selbina to cut open its belly and obtain the treasure. In Selbina trade the item with Zaldon at the Fishing Guild. He’ll give you key item ‘A Knight’s Boots’. Now go back to North San d’Oria, enter Chateau d’Oraguille and go to Prince Trion’s room. He’ll then reward you with the Gallant Leggings.

Borghertz’s Stalwart Hands
You must have completed PLD AF1 for the Honor Sword before you can get this quest.

After you receive the quest from Guslam go to the Eldieme Necropolis and get a Eldieme Coffer key then use it on the coffer chest to receive "some old gauntlets", a key item.

After you received the old gauntlets, return to Guslam. He will say the gauntlets are work of Borghertz, but he cannot repair them.

You then have to go speak to Yin Pocanakhu in the Tenshodo shop in Lower Jeuno who talks about a toolbox that won’t open. You have to pay her 1000 gil to tell you where the toolbox is at.

Once you pay her, she then tells you she left the toolbox on top of a crate outside of the Duty-Free shop in Port Jeuno and that you can have it.

When you examine the ???, a cutscene happens and Borghertz appears and asks that you bring him some "shadow flames" from Castle Zvahl. Go to Castle Zvahl Baileys and examine the torch at (F-8). A NM bomb by name of Dark Spark will appear. Kill it and examine the torch a second time to get the key item "Shadow Flames".

After you have received the shadow flames return to Jeuno and re-examine the ??? outside of the Duty-Free to get your reward.

This Quest is Repeatable

Garlaige Coffer - PLD AF
In order to do this "quest" you must first talk to the Guslam, a Galka in the armor shop in Upper Jeuno, to start Borghertz’s Stalwart Hands. You must also have completed the PLD AF1 quest for the Honor Sword.

You will need to acquire a Garlaige Coffer Key, which is dropped by Fallen Officers, Fallen Mages, and Fallen Majors. You can also get the key off Vault and Over weapons.

Once you have the key you will need to find the Treasure Coffer. All the coffer spawns are past either the Second or Third Banishing Gate, so you will need to either hitch a ride with a party going in or bring 3 other people with you to open the gates. Once you find the Treasure Coffer, trade the Coffer Key and you will receive the Gallant Coronet.

This Quest is Repeatable

Beadeaux Coffer - PLD AF
In order to do this "quest" you must first talk to the Guslam, a Galka in the armor shop in Upper Jeuno, to start Borghertz’s Stalwart Hands. You must also have completed the PLD AF1 for the Honor Sword.

You will need to acquire a Beadeaux Coffer Key, which is dropped by Ancient, Darksteel, Sapphire, and Platinum Quadavs.

First off, buy a map of Beadeaux from the map seller at (H-9) in a tent in Bastok Markets (by the Goldsmithing guild).

You enter Beadeaux at (E-7) on Map #1. Make your way to the underground tunnel entrance at (H-7). On Map #2, head down the tunnel and turn your first right at the intersection. Now, it’s time for a decision. You have ‘The Mute’ (silences you) to your right, and ‘The Afflictor’ (curses you) to your left. Have everyone but the White Mage become silenced and have your White Mage become cursed. Head to (F-8) to go back above ground.

From (F-8) above ground, run to (E-10) and head up the ramp to the higher level area. At this point, have your White Mage cast Cursna on himself/herself, and Silena everyone else in the party.

Run to (K-6) and be sure to stay on the higher level area all the way there. Level 55 and under people may start to get aggroed by quadavs by this point, so be careful. There will be a tunnel entrance at (K-6) on the lower level area that you can drop down to.

You’ll be back on Map #2 now at (J-6). Make your way to the (M-7) cross-intersection room. There will be two crawlers in that room that you should kill. This will be your camp!

You can pull the targeted quadavs from each of the four surrounding rooms (note: 2 rooms to the northeast have Mute machines, while the other 2 rooms contain Afflictor machines… make sure the puller doesn’t go too far into the room that he/she gets Cursed/Silenced).

Once you have the key you will need to find the Treasure Coffer. Use this map to see where Coffers spawn. Once you find the Treasure Coffer, trade the Coffer Key and you will receive the Gallant Breeches.

Helpful Information
===================

* Ahriman detects by sight and sound.
* Demons detect by sight.
* Goblins detect by sight.
* Orcs detect by sight
* You will need sneak and invisibility for both parts
* Castle Zvahl is like a mirror image, often you have a choice of going either N or S, but you eventually will get to the same place.
* In Castle Zvhal, always, always stay in the middle of the hall/road/etc. If you go to the edge and a mob sees you below or above, you will get aggro and a huge train of mobs.
* Most Orcs around the well area con as EP, EM or DC to a level 60.
* A full PT of lvl 58-60 is more than enough for the Zvhal portion (key hunting).
* You really want a full alliance (18 players) for the Davoi part.

San d’Oria
==========

You can start the quest at 50 once you must have completed AF2 (Gallant Leggings). Start out by heading to Chateau d’Oraguille and go to Prince Trion’s chambers. After the cutscene, you need to head to South San d’Oria and talk to Vemalpeau (M-7), who lives inside a small house. Once you talk to him, head on over to the Lion Spring’s Tavern and talk to Najjar. Next, head to Count Caffaule’s Manor (C-6) and talk to Ullassa. Ullassa will tell you about Mique’s Paintbrush (name will appear in purple-blue, the color for key items). Once you see the reference to the paintbrush, you are flagged and can go key hunting.

Castle Zvahl Baileys
====================

I will be referring to the maps here.

The top left map is the 1st Map, below (bottom left) is the 2nd Map and the 3rd Map is the one in the upper right corner. You are mainly interested in maps 2 and 3.

You start at J-8 on map 1. Follow the main hallway until you reach the 1st intersection at G-8. Go north at the intersection and follow the small hallway until you reach a set of stairs leading down (Note that you can go South at the intersection if you wish, you will eventually reach the 2nd Map all the same).

Go down the stairs and turn to your left (South), follow the hallway on a SW direction until you reach the tunnel that leads to the 2nd map.

You enter the 2nd map on I-8. What you want to note here are the 4 round holes located at G-6 (southern portion), H/I-6, G-9 and H/I-9.

You can follow the hallway straight to the end, and then go up the set of stairs. You will then be able to look down the NE hole (H/I-6). From here you also have access to the other holes.

-= Camp 1 =-

If you approach the edge of the hole and look down, you will notice that there are 3 ledges sticking (like platforms) and then the bottom floor. The bottom floor is populated by Demon Generals (L57-59), Demon Magistrates (L57-59) and Demon Commanders (L57-59). You do not want to drop down to the bottom floor just yet. Instead, align yourself to the ledge/platform which looks to be the highest of the 3, and drop down.

You will now be on the 3rd map, and behind you will be a small hallway that leads into one of the 4 square rooms on the 3rd map (F6, I/J-6, F-9/10, I/J-9). This is where the mobs that drop the keys are located. In the hallway you will usually find Ahriman’s (L63-65) and in the big rooms you will find Doom Demons (L64-66), Blood Demons (L64-66) and Arch Demons (64-66). All these mobs con as either T or VT to a L59 PLD.

Now, you can setup camp in the ledge/platform, just be sure not to drop down and, more importantly, to avoid being seen by any mob below or above. As an alternative, you can set camp inside the big room, in one of the corners. Usually you will find there is enough space and hopefully the mobs wont come wandering near the corner. Kill these mobs until you get your key.

-= Camp 2 =-

Starting from map 2 at the top of the hole, look down and this time you need to land on the 2nd highest platform, which will also lead you to the 3rd map, except this time you will be in the hallway which leads to the center of the map (big central square room). This hallway is usually populated by Ahrimans only (usually 2 or 3, spread out). You can set up camp close to the ledge and kill Ahrimans. In my experience the key drop rate seems to be better for Ahrimans. I got my key after the 3rd Ahriman, but your milage may vary.

If you run out of mobs, you can always move camp into one of the other holes/ledges. To do this you need to drop down to the bottom floor of the hole, and follow the hallway until you reach a set of stairs. You can’t miss them. Go up the stairs and you will be back again on the 2nd Map. Navigate to another hole, drop down and repeat.

Once you have your key, use this map to find out where the coffer chest spawns.

By now you already know how to navigate the map, so drop down accordingly into the holes until you find the chest. This part you can do solo if you have WHM subbed, or just remember to bring some oils/powders. What you mainly want to do is go around Map 3 (by using Map 2 to navigate) and check the big outer rooms, and the 4 central hallways, this is where the coffer spawns. If you are in a PT, I suggest you have a mage follow the circuit since it would be easier for he/she to recast sneak and invisibility.

San d’Oria
==========

After you obtain Mique’s Paintbrush (key item), you need to head back to South San d’Oria and talk to Vemalpeau again (M-7). He will tell you that all of his son’s belongings are still in his room upstairs. Head upstairs and investigate the painting on the wall. You will get an option to look at a strange piece of paper (letter), do so.

Once you have the letter, head to the weapon shop (K-7) and talk to Exoroche. He will tell you that you need to dip the letter on a well in Davoi to have the ink appear. At this point you are now ready to head to Davoi

Davoi
=====

A few comments before I go on. I have battled these two NM orcs a total number of 7 times (mine and other friends’ AFs). We have defeated them with as few as 9 people, but we had 2 L75 players tanking. You really want to have as many people as possible. You can do it with only 12 people (2 PTs) but you may have to use a couple of 2hrs or more. So, unless you have high level help, I really do recommend you gather 18 people. Easiest way to do this is to contact other paladins around your level range (and really, you should know them by now anyway), and coordinate the alliance with them to combine forces.

I will be referring to this map.

There are 2 key places you want to note here. The Village Well, which is located on the S-W corner of G-9, and the entrance to the Monastic Caverns at H-11. I will explain.

Head to Davoi, once in there make your way to the Village Well (G-9) by going through the S-E portion of the map. Note that level 58-59 you should be safe of aggro up until the intersection at H-10. At this point you will encounter some EP orcs to the north (where a treasure coffer spawns), and to the south (where the entrance to the Monastic Cavern is). Memorize this part of the map very well, because if the main NM battle goes wrong, what you want to do is run as fast as you can and zone into the Monastic Cavern. Especially if the tanks or damage dealers fall, have the mages zone and then come back.

The first thing you want to do is clear the area around the well from all the orcs. They con as EM or DC to a lvl 59-60 player (with the exception of the Orc Dreadnought, which is IT). Use this opportunity to get TP. Now, the are 2 relatively safe areas around the well where you can rest and regen MP. One is immediately to the south of the well, and another one to the north. In both of these ‘rest’ areas you can go up a small ledge in the wall and hopefully the orcs wont see you.

If you have a 3-PT alliance, what I suggest is the following: 1 PT will tank the paladin orc (One-Eyed Gwajbo), while the other 2 PTs will dispatch the ranger orc (Three-Eyed Prozpuz). The ranger orc hits hard, but goes down fast, whereas the paladin orc hits for less, but has a ton of HPs. If you have a 2-PT alliance, have 1 tank and 1 mage concentrate on the paladin orc, while everyone else takes care of the ranger orc.

The best way to tank the paladin orc and not lose hate is to load your TP to 300% before the fight (when you clear the area of orcs), and start with a provoke and immediately follow with a Spirits Within WS, which will do anywhere between 540-560 damage, then tank as usual.

Once you have killed the paladin Orc, a ‘well weight’ wlll drop. Trade it to the well and you will get a cutscene in which you will be able to read the contents of the letter. You are now done with Davoi.

San d’Oria, Jugner Forest, San d’Oria
=====================================

Go back to North San d’Oria and speak with Ailbeche (J-9). He will make reference to a lake in Jugner Forest, where his ‘friend’ is fishing (if you did AF2, you know who I mean). Now go to Jugner Forest and head to the Maiden’s Spring which is located in E-6 of the map. Once you approach the well, you will get a really cool cutscene in which most of the storyline from the quests will wrap up. After the cutscene, head back to San d’Oria and go to Prince Trion’s Chamber in Chateau d’Oraguille. There you will get an even cooler cutscene and the end of your AF adventures.

(Congratulations) you now have your Gallant Surcoat!

Ok folks, heres my first actual strat posted in a while. It involves the easter event.

I know that if you go into any newb city, you will always see spam everywhere regarding "i have a f s s f v e i..eggs" or people shouting looking for eggs.
Well, this takes advantage of those who sell low. This is based on buying low, selling high.

Heres what I did:

1. Buy EVERY egg you see prices under 5k.
2. Sort your inventory so they are all organized to maximize inventory space.
3. Place every egg in your bazaar for 6k per unit. Sell the Z eggs for 10k or 15k.
4. Leave your client idle for several hours and go out and do something.
5. Come back, and your inventory will be probably empty of eggs, and you will have profitted SO much.
* Be sure to locate near all of the moggles placed in the home town where people trade in eggs and get them.
* It is good to shout (not in excess) things like "Have ALL eggs in stock, 6k per, 10k for Z" or something similar. People will know whats up and you will be /checked like crazy.
* Be sure to have a budget and be prepared to make an investment. Do not worry if you spend alot, if you buy all under 5k and sell for 6k and 10k, you will FOR SURE profit.

This has worked for me the past 2 days, over 1 mil in profits so far.

Hope this you helps you guys as it did me. It’s good to be back in the strat business and not just regulatin you folks =)

This strategy can be very effective, but is only intended for the strong at heart. You will initially need a 75k investment as well as 42 days of patience. If you cannot provide these two things, then this strategy is not for you.

This strictly involves gardening, for those of you who have never gardened before, this will be a simple task. Most gardening requires you to be present throughout the week, watching your plants every move. Fortunately, this gardening tactic only requires you to check your plants once every "real-life" day.

First lets start with the initial 75k investment. You will need to spend this money on four Procelain Pots, four Tree Saplings, and one stack of Ice Crystals. Tree Saplings take the longest to grow, longer than any other of the plantable items, their growth time is clocked at 21 days. Once you have bought these items, place the pots in your mog house and plant your saplings. Please be sure to check your plants once a day just in case. On about the 7th day, your moogle will tell you that your plants aren’t doing so well, so it is time to nourish them with a crystal, in hence, feed all of your plants one Ice Crystal. Then on about the 16th day, you will be required to feed your plants again, so feed them their second Ice Crystal. After 21 days, your plants will be ready to harvest, you can be sure of this if your plants are giving off a faint glow.

Why go through all this trouble you ask? Once you’re ready to harvest, and you do harvest, you will obtain one Ice Ore for every plant you’ve planted. On my server, just one Ice Ore sells for 250k - 500k depending on demand. You can find it’s going rate under Goldsmithing materials.

Now, don’t be too hasty to buy all those wonderful things you’ve wanted for so long, that’s not what the money is for. Notice above, I said 42 days, not 21. Now, with your new found mega gil, you want to buy 17 more Porcelain Pots, two stacks of Tree Saplings, and about four stacks of Ice Crystals. This totals about 400k - 500k depending on your server.

All you have to do now, is plant one Tree Sapling per day, while feeding crystals accordingly. After 21 days, you will begin harvesting one Ice Ore per day. Be sure to buy either another stack, or one Tree Sapling every day to plant a new one. Following this method will allow you 250k - 500k per day depending on sales at the auction house. On my server, Ice Ores are sold constantly to make Ice Staves.

If you can keep up with this formula, you should never have to farm again. If done correctly, your gil will be maxed out in six to eight months time, due to you making around 12,000,000 gil per month.

I hope this helps many, take care and God speed.

I hope this post helps out as much as my others have.

A common problem is that many people farm, and only farm for one item or monster at a time. For example crawlers in Sarutabaruta. Well, did you ever consider going to farm in an area in which most of the mobs drop great items that sell for good money?

Consider this. The area of Pashow has —
1. Goobues which drop tree cuttings and boyahda moss(120k per stack and 9k per stack respectively
2. Leeches which drop Beastman blood(30-40k per stack)
3. Crawlers which drop silk thread(15-20k per stack).

In this area you should mainly not focus on any one monster in particular- doing this will only make you lose time. Instead just run around the area and kill off any goobue, leech, or crawler you see.

The re-pop times on these mobs are low, and the area is so large, that the monsters should never really be gone. ALSO, not only look for those mobs, but there are TWO NMs that pop in the area relatively often–

Jolly Green and Bloodpool Vorax.

Both of their drops can net you easy quick cash. Basically just kill all of these monsters you see in the area. I have made over 500k farming nights there from North America. Added TH will help you alot with drop rates, but even w/o it, you will profit decent money. This post is mainly for players who are newer to the game or are struggling to make money in farming.

Enjoy!!

What you will need:

-Fishing skill up to lvl 50

-Smithing up to lvl 26

-Composite fishing rod (you can use Lu Shangs, but it really isn’t needed)

-Rogue Rig

-A powerful or overwhelming water aura in your mog house. Can be done with using multiple commodes. Make sure your moghancement is fishing.

Where to go:

-Rabao

What to do:

SImple, go to Rabao and start to fish. You are fishing for rusty caps. Why rusty caps? Because they can be synthed into padded caps using; light crystal + rusty cap. *depending on fame* These sell for around 2.5-2.7k…to an NPC!

I have been doing this for about 4-5 days and am now at 1.1 million. I suspect I will be at 2 mil by the end of the weekend. Have fun!

ps. Don’t bother copying this to other forums, as it is already on allakhazam and many of the other forums I read. That is why I didn’t understand how it wasn’t up here.

The Strange Apparatus (Final Fantasy 7 hentai)

There are many Strange Apparatuses around Vana’diel.

Check this website out posted on the Mystery Tour website:
http://mysterytour.web.infoseek.co.jp/ffxi/us/tips/strangeapparatuses.htm

There you’ll find out exactly what it is and what you need to trade to it for random items which are:

– Infinity Core - Dropped in Dynamis and one of the new BCNM 60 fights or you can buy in the Auction House for anywhere of 4,000 - 100,000 gil
— Compatible Chip - Bought in semi-hidden Goblins in San d’Oria, Bastok, and Windurst for 21,000 gil

Just look at the above website for all the details.

There is just one thing that the website does not explain or is unknown to so many, this is what the password you have to put in is for. There is an 8 digit password that no one knows about. It’s so mysterious.

When you examine the apparatus you basically get this:

It is some sort of device.
(Some clue is put here that indicates what elemental chip you are supposed to use)
The voice of a young woman rings in your head.
"Wel…to the…morph Matter Emulato…
Inser… an infinity core and…elementally c…patible chip to begi…item replicat…process…"
"If you…registe… doctor, emula…settings will…djuste…accordin…"
"…emulator…ill now conduc…user auth…zation. Please inp…your 8-digit passw…"

(A password box comes up in the text area and you can enter whatever your heart desires. Whatever password seems to be put in, which I’m sure is wrong, the following message will come up)

"Passw…error…"
Reg…tration comple… Your access lev…is assistant."
The voice in your head has gone silent.

Then if you trade an infinity core and whatever chip is compatible to the Strange Apparatus, a short cutscene occurs showing the machine operating, and then this appears on your screen:

The voice of a young woman rings in your head.
"…commencin…rocess.."
You obtain (Random Item).
"Syste…shutting…own."
"It is….will…Altan….
…heaven…lory….ve…mercy…"
The voice in your head has gone silent.

After you do this and target the Strange Apparatus again, it comes up with the message you started with in the first place.

If you DON’T trade the right Elemental Chip, what happens is an NM Elemental spawns. This is NOT something you want to happen.

I imagine that the only reason for doing this is to get the Arcane Flowerpot or a level 70 weapon. You just have to get lucky with the random Item that is given to you.

————-

Now that that is out of the way, just when you thought I was done, I have more. There are rumors that to me are unverified. I’ll make easy on all of us and just list them. The ones with the stars by them are the ones I think are true:

1 - If you keep using the same password over and over you gain status of "Assistant" until you reach "Doctor" Status.

2 - When you go to all of them and use the same password you will gain the rank of "Doctor" status.

*3* - If you gain Doctor Status you won’t lose the Infinity Core that you use, only the Elemental Chip, hense the name "Infinity Core."

*4* - The strange apparatus holds a bigger role in the Chains of Promethia expansion for FFXI.

*5* - Infinity Core prices are dropping a lot in the Auction House
(Going for as low as 30,000 gil now on some servers)

6 - The only reason Infinity Cores go in and out of the Auction House quick is because people are buying them thinking that when they DO figure out how to use them effeciently, they’ll be worth more money.
(I think that this is false. Someone HAS to know what they are used for! It maybe true for some people, but try to talk to the people who are buying them, you don’t get really any good responses)

7 - No information exists on English or Japanese servers about this as of yet.
(Who knows if this is true. Anybody know both English and Japanese and can scroll through them for us?)

*8* - They all are hidden by inside an invisible wall.
(This is true, definitely)

*9* - None of these are really guarded by anything at all pass the hidden wall.

10 - At Dangruf Wadi, it is protected by Goblins (Buthers and Ambushers) and There is a stone pedestal that has a ??? at the exit. There’s nothing unusual about it when examined so something might have to be traded to it or something activated for it to have a comment or two.

11 - The invisible walls can be targeted.
(uh… I don’t know about this one)

12 - These are connected to the mysteries of the Crags
(I doubt it. They have to have their own thing going on. It may be connected, the whole world of Vana’diel is connected somehow, but not the way people are talking about.)

13 - There is a quest to that involves the Strange Apparatus
(Whoever got told this was LIED to. Ha ha. Curently there are no quests, there maybe in the future, but not this expansion.

14 - The Strange Apparatus is something you deal with on the Zilart Missions.
(Um… I have no idea about this one.)

15 - Rumor has it the password is 44981567.
(This was posted on ffxi.Allakhazam.com and is, yet, another false statement ^^)

What are my personal thoughts about it? I’m glad you asked.

Maybe there are clues in San d’Oria as to what the password is. The the reason why I say this is because it mentioned something about the Goddess of Altana if you actually trade an Infinity Core and Elemtnal Chip saying:

The voice of a young woman rings in your head.
"…commencin…rocess.."
You obtain (Random Item).
"Syste…shutting…own."
"It is….will…Altan….
…heaven…lory….ve…mercy…"
The voice in your head has gone silent.

I imagine the translation is something to the effect of "It is the will of Altana heaven, glory, love, mercy…" Maybe there are more things in San d’Oria that is the "will of Altana" that we are over-looking here. Are there more things than heaven, glory, love, and mercy? This might have NOTHING to do with it, but then again, who knows?

Anyway, any new information about this would be VERY much appreciated. In the mean time, who’s up for a BCNM? ^^

Move While Bound (Final Fantasy demo)

Here is something that i have found, doesn’t do a whole lot, but it’s good for fighting worms and such.
If you are bound, have an equip change macro, well 2 actually. Keep useing them and holding foward or whaterver direction you want to go and you will be able to move slowly.
Not a real fast mover, but you might be able to get out of the spell cast area in time to save your life, or maybe just save a little mp. Ready for the next level? I do not remember where i got this information. I recently saved it on a disk as a text file and my hard drive died so i did not have the link. Anyway the information has served use to me so let it help you guys out to.

What is BCNM?
BCNM – Burning Circle Notorious/Named Monsters. A special battle in which you enter a closed arena.

How do I fight in a BCNM?
You trade an Orb (Star/Comet/Moon) to a Burning Circle found in various parts of Vanadiel. It will then allow you and your party to enter the arena.

How do I get Orbs?
You trade the proper amount of Beastmen’s Seals to a NPC in Port Jeuno – Shami (H-8). You will receive an Orb.

How do I get Beastmen’s Seals?
Any monster that you can defeat and gives experience points can drop a Beastmen’s Seal. They stack up to 99 and you can have multiple stacks.

Can I buy, sell, or trade Beastmen’s Seals?
No. The coins you may see in the Auction House that look like them are Beastmen Coins. They are dropped/stolen from higher level Beastmen and cannot be used to obtain Orbs.

What are the Orbs I can get?
Star Orb – trade 40 Beastmen’s Seals
Comet Orb – trade 50 Beastmen’s Seals
Moon Orb – trade 60 Beastmen’s Seals
Laksis/Clone/Atoropos – trade 30 Kindred’s Seals*

*Kindred’s Seals are dropped from level 50+ monsters

What is the difference between Star, Comet, Moon, etc?
Star Orb will let you fight in a level 40 capped BCNM Battle
Comet Orb will let you fight in a level 50 capped BCNM Battle
Moon Orb will let you fight in a level 60 capped BCNM Battle
Laksis/Clone/Atoropos will let you fight in a level 70 capped BCNM Battle

Can I enter a BCNM if I am lower or higher than the level cap?
Yes. If you are higher than the level cap of the BCNM, when you enter you will be temporarily be de-levelled. Be sure to have appropriate level equipment. You can enter the BCNM if your level is lower than the cap, even as a level 1.

Can an alliance fight in a BCNM?
No. Only a single party (1-6 people) may enter at a time.

Does everyone in the party need to have an Orb?
No. Only one person needs to have an Orb, once he/she trades it to the Burning Circle , it will allow other party members to enter.

Where are the Burning Circles?
Horlais Peak – (J-6) in Yughott Grotto, accessed from the top of Fort Ghelsba (J-8)
Waughroon Shrine – (I-10) on the third floor of Palborough Mines
Balga’s Dais – (F-12) in Giddeus
Chamber of Oracles – (E-10) Quicksand Caves
Cloister of Tides – Sea Serpent Grotto
Sacrifical Chamber - (E-5) Den of Rancor
Qu’Bia Arena – (K-8) Fei Yin

How long is the BCNM battle?
You have a time limit of 30 minutes. (50BCNM Time Bomb is an exception to this).

What happens if we get killed or time over?
You can choose to Reraise if possible and if the time limit has not expired. You can also wait to Reraise after the time limit, and be ejected from the Burning Circle arena automatically. If you cannot defeat all the NMs before the time limit, you will be ejected from the Burning Circle arena. You can also choose to leave the field if you go back to the Burning Circle .

What do I get if the BCNM battle is won?
Once all NMs are defeated, an Armory Crate will appear. Target and attack it to end the BCNM battle. Depending on how many party members you have, items will be available in the Treasure Pool to lot on. The rewards can either be equipment, magic spells, gems, guild supplies, or money. It is up to your party to decide on lotting rules, after a certain time has passed, it will auto distribute if no one has passed or lotted.

The Orb is still in my inventory after I won/lost. Can I use it again?
No. You can trade the Orb back to Shami, or just toss it.

I have an Orb and we’re at the right place, but we can’t enter!
If another party was ahead of you, and enters the Burning Circle (either mission or BCNM) you have to wait about 10 minutes until you can enter the field.

*** WARNING : only proven on NMs spawning in a closely knit area ***

As most people are aware, there are many cheats, exploits, and bots to getting Notorious Monsters. This trick can make people using F8 macros, or anything else NOT involving the mouse, to not be able to select the monster they want, and lose. It is cheap, but so are macros - GET YOUR REVENGE!

1. First pull a mob that is unlikely or too weak to kill you. If the mob is extremely weak and its hitting you for virtually nothing, your in good shape. If the mob can kill you if you let it hit you for a minute or two, pull it soon before you should worry about the NM spawning, that way you can kill it afterwards.

2. Make sure you position yourself directly infront of the person or persons you are REALLY worried about stealing your NM. If you have a team, or a party, this is much easier becuase one person can totally focus on staying in front of the main competitor. *** DO NOT USE THE FOLLOW COMMAND ***

3. When the NM spawns, grab it with fast spells - Voke, Shadowbind, Dia, Flash, Stun ( If these don’t have a long enough range, this strategy probably wont work for you ) and kill the NM fast, or get your partner to. If the distraction monster is strong enough to hurt or even kill you, it is a much better idea to PT with one or two other people than decide to solo this. Losing the NM is bad, but dying is worse.

I hope this works for you, it has proven very effective for me ^^
