Being a mage lets me get invited to NA and JP parties. I want to share with you a Japanese Party Tactic that is not often utilized by many NA players. I wish that we did this tactic more often. More people will get to party and less down time. Therefore less people in LFG and more people getting XP. The faster we get to 75 the more people we can help.

***Misconception about alliances: Sure alliances do have some xp penalty but not much. A party of 6 can take down an IT mob in 1 minute and 15 seconds for 200xp. Unfortunately during that 1 minute and 15 seconds the mob has hit the paladin enough times that your mages are low on MP and your paladin will also have to refresh himself also. Now with a properly developed alliance, you can take that IT mob in 40-60 seconds for 160xp. In return your mages will still have 2/3s of their MP allowing you to chain another IT for chain 1 ~ 200xp. So with a party of 8 you would have gotten 360xp in 1 minute 30 seconds.

Lets start out with the basics
Current Scenario is Quicksand Caves. Lvl 47-48 party!
6 People in party and 2 people in an alliance.

1st party
Pld/war lvl 48 Tank/Hate Control

drg/war lvl 47 Damage
rdm/blm lvl 48 Refresh, Cure, and Elemental Seal/Slow

brd/whm lvl 48 Party Buffs and mob Debuffs (Battlefield Elegy is extremely important)

2nd alliance party
thf/nin lvl 48 Sneak/Trick, Viper bite of the paladin
thf/war lvl 47 Sneak/Trick, Fudiama of the monk.

(Thieves are great to be allianced because they never get hit, the hate always goes to the tanks, and you only have to regen them once in a while)

At lvl 48 Beetles in quicksand caves now range from Tough – IT. Quicksand Caves is also not as crowded due to more people want to level at crawlers nest for Genkai item (Exoray Mold). So basically you will get alot of mobs to choose from. You can get the beetles ranging from T – IT, spiders VT-IT, and Anticans IT at lvl 48.

Battle Scenario
Party Buffs ~ Food ~ Reraise etc.
Once you are ready and spread out the thf pulls an Incredibly Tough beetle. (Incoming)
Bard does Mages Ballad and Logical etude on Mages. By the time the beetle gets near the party bard should be done with both songs
Bard does BattleField Elegy to stack with slow
Red Mage will do Elemental Seal / Slow
White Mage will do Paralyze
Bard runs to party and does Sword Madrigal and Valor Minuet IV.
Monk Provokes
Thief/War does Sneak and Trick of the Paladin
Paladin Provokes and Flash (Hate is now on Paladin)
Puller Thief/Nin gets behing Monk and does Sneak and Trick
Drg does Jump, then high jump and runs behind Paladin for Cover.
Hate is now on Paladin
Rdm Refresh Paladin
Rdm, brd and whm cure 1s
Bard starts stacking Paeons 3 and 4
Battle over – Ready for Chain
Rdm Refresh whm
Brd does ballad and logical etude again
Save TP for next mob.
Total Time 48 seconds for 165xp.

Thief/nin pulls another mob and do the same as above but this time Whm will do Elemental Seal/Slow, rdm will to paralyze, and you work in your Skill Chains. Another IT Dead Total Time 45 Seconds
Mages will continuously have their MP at half at all times. With Refresh and ballad properly distributed you will rarely get low MP, especially, with 3 cure casters.

Now the trick to chain up to 12 or more. With a party of 6 the most I ever did was Xp chain# 6. But with party of 8 we did xp chain# 10. Unfortunately, we lost chain because we ran out of mobs.

**** Middle of the Battle
After the puller (Thf) does sneak, trick and viper they disengage and starts scouting for potential mobs that we can chain properly. They Gauge the mages MP and they factor in refresh and ballad build up. They also figure out the TP of each player to see how fast we can kill the next prey. With that in mind they scout to find either T – VT – IT.

ok 2 PLD await at the camp 1 thf pulls a IT then 1 PLD vokes then the 4THF’s setup for quad SATA ok so the first PLD vokes then the other PLD gets close to mob then the other THF’s does SATA then the hate gos to that PLD then the other THF does SATA on the other PLD then IF the hate go to him they switch if the hate stay on the first SATA PLD then do SATA again on the PLD that you just did. the mob should be dead in about under a minute no matter what kind of IT they are 4 SATA’s who the hell can withstand that no enemy ive seen so far.

whichevr THF does the first SATA they are the next puller and so forth Ive been able to chain IT with NO!!! down time at all as long as the BRD or RDM are doing there jobs with refresh or mp regen.

Ive made astonshishing results with this party and I promise it may seem a bit okward at fist BUT if you can get a team that willing to listen and dedicate some time then youll thank me.

i hope all of you think about this for a sec i mean the THF dont ever get hit maybe on the pull for 1 or 2 hits and since your doing 4 SATA’s mages (ie) RDM and BRD dont have to wrry about casting those hate cure spells or songs or convert refresh whatevr the battle needs this is a start that i thought of one day and took my linkshell to new heights i DO NOT PARTY WITHOUT THIS NE-MORE

i bazaar mine at around 20-30gil.
each insect ball stack goes for 300-400gil at AH. these are a must for the moat catchers so they sell real quick. all i do is bazaar mine and advertise 40% off AH price when i sell for 240gil a stack. the price sounds irresistable too people who don’t know how to make it. people message me in mass and buy in mass. if you go to port sandy and bazaar through the night, it usually sells within the first few minutes.

1 of each makes 12 insect balls for 400 at AH
12 insect balls x 12 stacks = 400 x 12 = 4800
4800 – (1068+5) = 3732gil!
(5gil cost for a stack at AH)

i get messages everyday now providing Asura with insect balls for real cheap. if you need a good deal in masses /tell boxerz or roxerz from woosa
the AH prices are from Asura server(highly unstable prices)

This is my favourite strategy. Stacks of silk thread sell for around 50,000 gil on Pandemonium at the moment, so it’s very lucrative, I made 100,000 with about 2 hours work doing this while hunting Yagudo’s for their necklaces (1k gil each). If you are between/around, lets say level 30 and 40 go to Tahrongi Canyon with *damagedealer*/thf (before that level you can also go with *DD*/something or thf/war or things like that).

Make sure you have huge free space in your Inventory. Near to the Crag of Mea there are a lot of Killer Bees, Pygmaioi, Saplings, Crawlers, Dhamels, Yagudo and Air & Earth Elementals.

The Killer Bees drop Beehive Chips with sell for approx 10k. If you like bring Fire Crystals and Distilled Water with you, then you can synth Beeswax which sell for approx 30k and can raise your Alchemy-Skill if you are still at amateur level. Crafting also helps tp keep your inventory free.

Bees also drop Honey, Giant Stingers and Insect Wings which sell at decent prices, but you should drop them if you have enough time for farming.

Pygmaiois drop Balls of Saruta Cotton. The Balls sell for approx 12k.

Saplings drop Grain and Herb Seeds and Treant Bulbs. Drop the bulbs and stack the Grains and Herbs. Grains sell for about 15k in San D’oria and Herbs for about 10k almost everywhere

Crawlers drop Silk Threads. Stacked they sell for about 28k, but even with TH1 they dont drop that often, so better concentrate at the bees and the saplings

The Elements drop Clusters so you can gain crystals of them for crafting and keeping your inventory clean

A bit more off the Crag you can find Yagudos from which you can steal Silver Beastcoins. Dont throw away the Necklaces they drop, cause you can craft 3 Grass Threads out of a yagudo necklace in combination with a wind crystal. A stack of them sell for about 4k, not that much, but if you dont have a lot of time quite usefull, because you can craft grass cloth out of 3 grass threads with an earth crystal. Stacks sell for about 8-10k. With a bit higher Goldsmithing (about 12-15) skill you can also craft Silver Ingots out of the Silver Beastcoins and gain skillups.

Finally Dhamels occasionally drop Dhamel Leather, which also sell for about 10-30k and seem to be rare at the AHs (maybe a result of the poor droprate .

So, as you can see, if you have the pacience you can make lots of money this way!

yea thats right tons of gil minning, i know alot of u think that minning is a waste of time but it acually isnt…
all u need is about 50-60k start up and ur good to go these are some things you need to start:
3-4 stacks of miining picks (get them in bastok from that gear place in port bastok)
the minning field gear or workers gear if u got some extra cash

Now for the place…if u have the expansion go to Halvung in the new areas and start minning there here is the map and locations for all the minning spots in the area**PLUS MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE SNEAK AND INVIS ON AT ALL TIMES EVERY MOSTER IN THERE ARE VERY HIGH LEVELS** invis will come off when u attemtp to mine also make sure u use this macro to mine:

/item "Pickaxe" <t><— use this macro to mine just target the minning spot and use the macro it will automatically mine for you

Strategy #1: The Lumberjack
This is a simple but extrememly effective one. Ok, first off, you need some starting funds. Probably around 15k, but you’ll need 80k or so if you want the extras.
This is what you’ll need:
12 Hatchets – Roughly 5-10k depending on server.
Field Gear (Optional) – Roughly 80-150k Depending on server.
Worker’s Gear (Definetly Optional) – Roughly 200-300k Depending on server.
Ok, you’ll only want the Field or Worker’s gear that helps logging. If you buy the Field gear, your hatchets won’t break as often and you’ll get better logs. If you buy the worker’s it’s kind of like field gear x2, so less breaks, better logs. Personally I worked my way up.
and, Wind Crystals – 5-10k a stack Depending on server.
Ok, now once you have all this empty your inventory out and go to Ghelsba Outpost, if you dont know where this is I’t is in San d’ Oria, and I think its one of them hidden zones in the upper left corner of your map. Once in Ghelsba Outpost, keep going untill you come out of the tunnel into a large open space full of trees and orcs. Do not go past this, all our trees our here. First off, we’ll want to set a macro to make things easy. So here it is:
/item "Hatchet" <t>
So whenever you have a Logging Point targetted you can press this macro and it will automatically chop wood. Now, if your woodworking is still low, such as 0 or 3 or somthing, you’ll probably only want to turn Arrowood into lumber, but play around and see what you can easily turn to lumber. The simple recipie for that is: Wind Crystal + any type of Log = Lumber that goes with that log.
This way you’ll be able to keep more inventory space. When you get elm lumber DO NOT TURN IT TO LUMBER. #1: It’s a high synth, like 55+ I think, I dont know, but I could make lumber out of it at skill lvl 60. #2 One elm log goes for maybe 8-10k depending on server. Hey, it’s time for a FFXI exploit! This has to be the first in a long time. Enjoy!

Ok, the purpose of this exploit is to be able to Flee for 2+ minutes, and also run through zones and run right past aggroing mobs with no aggro ever!
A couple things you should know:
– This only works for PC users.
– The modem you use for your computer must contain a "Standby" button on it (this is very crucial!)
– There is a CHANCE it could get you banned / in trouble with SE, but I have tested it and confirmed it, and it works for sure with no problems.

Ok here goes the strategy of how you will go about doing this:

- You should see a "standby" button on your modem, in some cases, this button may say "SPB" on it instead, they are the same thing.
– If you ever hit the SPB button while in game, you will notice that everything moving around you will freeze. You will also notice, when you do this, the % of connection in the top-right corner of your client will drop. You know it is working when it drops.

For getting past the aggro mobs with no aggro:
– Before you press the button, be sure to be out of the sight of the mob.
– When your ot of range for being aggroed, press the standby button on your modem.
– Wait 5 seconds, THEN you can just walk right past the mob and get out of aggro range.
* Your now done, you can keep it off, but do not let the % get much lower than 20%, when I tested it, it got to about 14% and logged me out.

For the Flee exploit:
– Activate "Flee" (only for theives)
– Keep "Flee" active until theres around 2 to 5 seconds left on it.
– Press the standby button right then.
– You will notice you will keep on fleeing for about 2-3 minutes, or until your % of connection gets to where I said for it to be before you have to reconnect.

- Remember wherever you press the standby button, this is where your character will stay, so be sure to be clear of any aggro mobs when you initially press it.
– Also remember, when you are fleeing, mobs will only be triggered by your position when you reconnect, so you want to probably run to where you know it is safe of aggroing mobs.

any blackmage with 2 AE spells cna make nice moeny in palborough Mines outside bastok

I am a Level 26 black Mage (taru taru) witha lvl 7whm subclass so any other blackmage should not have problems as i have the least ammount of HP.

Plan: zone in: Bind the first quadav you see and run all the way to the elevator that takes you to the 3rd floor. soon your bind should wear off (before you make it there) wait, and soon a train of 10-25 quadavs should be comming arround the corner, they souldnt dmg you too much, 1dmg per hit on me mostly, they would crit for 4dmg though. i wait for them all to pile up, cast aeroaga and wateraga and watch them fall and the loot and gil spam across my screen.

Each AEing i made about 3-4k gil in drops (Water crystals,spells, shields, backplates and gil) to up your profits even more id suggest leveling up thief as sub job for gil finder and treasure finder for even more drops. id do this and have plenty of hp and mana to spare, head back to entrace and repeat just bind the first one etc etc. and they all respanw at the same time cause they were kileld at the same time =)

OK, i recently have began investing money in buying items to trade to the Strange Apparatuses in areas such as Dangruf Wadi, King Ranperre’s Tomb, Maze of Shakrami, Crawlers Nest, just to name a few. So here’s the scoop. Now, this will involve investing some money, but the profits that will be gained far outweight the investment. I have made millions of gil so far. So everyone knows the Strange apparatuses that exist all over vanadiel. You can trade one infiniti core (AH Others> Misc, go for around 3-10k a pop) and one chip ( Found in port bastok behind warehouses , there is a NPC goblin behind them down the stairs selling different colored chips. Each one pertains to a different Strange Apparatus. Just trade one infinit core and one chip to the strange apparatus at a time. So here’s the rewards. The absolute best is the Rune Weapons that you can get- Rune staff( 1 mil) Rune club(200k) Rune Baghnaks(30k) Rune Halberd(500k) Rune Bow(130k) Rune Arrow(2k) Rune Chopper(150k) and Rune Axe(150k). All of the Rune Weapons have Latent Effects that are wonderful, and are equippable my black mages. Besides Rune Weapons, you can also get Cermet chunks( in sets of 8), Adaman Nuggets(25k), Arcane Flowerpot(250k), and different Clusters according to chip you used. Ok, so here is what NOT TO DO. Dont do this when the moon is within 26-74% phase, the items you get will be horrible, and you will have wasted your money. Try to go as close to 100% as possible to maximize drops.Make sure you use the color chip according to the area you are. Red is Dangruf Wadi, the other areas i am not yet sure, If anyone knows and would like to add to this post it would be great and even help myself out. But over all, i have made millions off the precious items i have received doin this over and over, you can do it as many times as you woudl like! I have found that the more you do it in a row, the better ur drops are. I usually buy 10 infiniti cores and 10 chips at a time.
